We are always striving to make your experience at Pediatrics of Newberry one that is as free of anxiety and stress as possible and make it one that is full of love (and fun) for you and your children.
This is what you can expect on your visit to our office for the first time:
We have dedicated sick and well waiting rooms and hope that you respect others who are waiting, by sitting in the correct room. If you are unsure what room your child should be in, ask. We’ll help you to decide. Your wait time in the sitting area could be as short as a minute and as long as an hour. Rarely would you ever wait longer than that. If you do, it’s likely because we are attending to a very sick child with a special concern.
Once you are directed back to an examining room your child will be triaged by a nurse or medical assistant. This process varies from whether your child is sick or well and won’t take much time at all. We make no attempt to rush you through this process and your provider will spend as much time as they need in order to best assess your child and make recommendations for treatment (in the case of a sick child) or anticipatory guidance (in the case of well children). Vaccines, when appropriate are given by our nursing team. Our treatment rooms are very “child friendly”, with each room having its own theme: “the fire truck room” or the “rocket ship” room, for example. We also provide up to date reading materials in case of that longer than anticipated wait in the exam room.
When you check out, you’ll go back to the desk where you entered and inform the receptionist the timing of your child’s next visit. Many times we will offer your child a little treat as a “thank you” for being such a great sport through what sometimes can be a scary process.
We do expect payment of deductibles and copays upon checking in for your visit. Please see our office financial and payment policies in documents given during your visit.
We strive for perfection here at Pediatrics of Newberry and rely on your feedback to be able to make the appropriate changes if deemed necessary. Please feel free to fill out one of our anonymous surveys in the office so that we can best serve you and your children.
Thanks again for choosing Pediatrics of Newberry. We are honored that you have chosen us as you child’s health care provider.
